Mirrored Journey: Beyond the Surface

Greetings from Mirrored Journey in Tokyo!

In November 2024, Mirrored Journey is being presented in Tokyo with an exhibition and two artist talks.

In the current phase, titled Beyond the Surface, Ivanova and Yajima collaborate with cultural organizations in Austria and Japan. The 10 cm round mirrors are once again at the heart of the project, now in partnership with Kosmos Theater (Vienna), KUK pro mente (Linz), Atelier Wels (Wels), and Ongoing Art Center (Tokyo). The mirrors were installed at the mentioned partner locations, where visitors were invited to pick up a mirror, take photos with it and pass it on to the next participant.

The collection of these visual stories forms the basis of the exhibition at the Austrian Cultural Forum (ACF) in Tokyo.

The exhibition presents a collage of microcosms from cities thousands of kilometers apart. It highlights the diversity of human experiences, interests, and emotions through the shared narratives of its contributors.
